Before you start your journey...
Dreadlocks are intended to be permanent, however if created and cared for properly they can be removed.
Before you jump into spending your time and money on a big change, do your research!
Dreadlocks should only be washed 1-2 times a week with a dreadlock safe shampoo. Dreadlock safe shampoos are residue free, as to not cause soap build up inside the dreadlock. However, improper rinsing even with safe shampoo can still cause residue build up. See below for proper care info.
I carry a limited range of Dollylocks Products in my studio, including liquid shampoo. Stop by and grab a bottle, or order here.
Atleast 30-60 days prior to your scheduled appointment, you will start adjusting your scalp for dreadlocks by washing with your new dreadlock shampoo. You will no longer be able to use conditioners. Your hair is going to feel a little different when using the shampoo.

This is required before any/all appointments.
To get the most out of your maintenance, your dreadlocks need to be clean and DRY!
A week before your appointment, I request a deep cleanse/detox to be done on your dreadlocks. This removes any residue/build up/dry skin. Please wash your dreadlocks the day or two before your scheduled appointment and come in with completely dry hair. I carry Dollylocks Detox Kits in my studio, or you can purchase here now.
There is also an "at home" recipe you can put together:
3/4 cup baking soda
1 cup of apple cider vinegar
5-10 drops tea tree/other essential oil
1/2 cup of witch hazel
4-6+ gallons of water
Stir all ingredients till dissolved in a bucket/sink/tub.
Soak dreadlocks and scalp for 20-30 minutes.
Squeeze dreadlocks and scrub scalp thoroughly.
Rinse & repeat with new mixture if needed.
Please do not use any wax/gels/pomades or locking powders.
Please arrive with CLEAN, DRY hair/dreadlocks.
Please! You will be charged from the start time of your appointment until I am finished, regardless of if you are late or not.
